Who We Are
Fairytale Farms was founded in 2020 by Maggie and Matt Changala. Matt comes from a long line of pumpkin farmers, dryland wheat farmers, and vegetable farmers, starting with his Aitatxi (grandfather) Si Changala in the 1960s in Orange County.
The family moved to the Porterville area in the early 1980s, continuing their passion for farming pumpkins and dryland wheat. After a few years of growing and selling pumpkins at the family's Ducor ranch, Matt and Maggie moved to the big city of Bakersfield. Together with Maggie's sister Julie and Matt's favorite brother-in-law Dominic, they operate Fairytale Farms, wholesaling pumpkins from their Bakersfield location.
They offer direct sales to pumpkin patches, retail locations including school deliveries, and provide a Fairytale Farms pumpkin patch experience.
